Team FTC was launched by the husband and wife team, Coach Enoch and Angela, back in November of 2016. Coach Enoch and Angela founded Team FTC with a simple goal, building a running community that brings people together to run better and support one another. Their passion for community and family led them back to Florida after living out of state for 6 years, post-university. Since its inception, it's been a success and continues to grow to this day. Over the past 15 years, Coach Enoch (pronounced e-knock) has worked with countless runners of all ages and abilities. He enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge of the sport with all of his runners. Enoch loves helping runners achieve their goals and dreams.
Coach Enoch first found his love for running in the 9th grade at Keystone Heights High School. As a member of the cross country and track team, Enoch took it upon himself to learn all that he could about running. He would go on to coach himself to multiple top five state championship finishes, and under his guidance, help his cross country team finish with its highest place in school history at the state meet. Upon graduation, Enoch was awarded a cross country/track scholarship to the University of Florida. During Enoch's freshman year at UF, he coached local High School Senior, Jeremy Criscione. Under Enoch's coaching Jeremy won the Cross Country state championship and set a State Record for the 5K and a 2-mile State Track championship. At UF, Enoch was a multiple All-SEC Conference and South Region Honoree. He was the captain of his Cross Country team and won numerous invitationals around the southeast. Enoch still holds top 10 time records at UF in the 8k and Steeple Chase. During Enoch's time at UF, he worked closely with the coaches and gained much of his running knowledge from some of the top minds in the sport. Enoch continues to race often and can be seen fighting for the win with other local elite athletes. Enoch debuted in the Marathon in 2017 running 2:18:17 to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Trials. And then went on to run 2:17:06 at the Boston Marathon. In the fall of 2019 Enoch ran another personal best at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon of 2:13:04 to solidify himself as one of the top Marathoners in the US. Angela was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey but moved to Tampa, FL at the age of 10 with her mother and sisters. Angela earned a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2010. After working as an Engineer for several years, and traveling abroad in 2014/15, Enoch and Angela moved back to Florida to be closer to family. Shortly after moving to Gainesville, the couple founded Team FTC in the fall of 2016. During the first-year, Angela worked as an engineer at Philips while helping run Team FTC on the side. As Team FTC and Angela's responsibilities grew, she left engineering to come on board full-time in late 2017. As a Lean Green Belt Certified Engineer, specializing in process optimization and improvement, Angela enjoys applying her problem-solving background to the everyday challenges of running your own business. As the Head of Operations, Angela runs the day-to-day business at Team FTC. This includes membership management, website development/maintenance, clothing design/branding, online store maintenance, communications, marketing, social media, event planning and more. In addition to being passionate about Team FTC, Angela works as a Guardian ad Litem volunteer where she advocates for foster children. Angela, a former foster child herself, enjoys helping children in need the same way so many amazing people helped her along the way. Running background: When Team FTC launched Angela's running background was very limited. She had completed a few local 5k's in 2012/13 but had no formal running or sports experience as a youth or adult. As the team took off, so did Angela's training and love for running. She completed her first Half Marathon at the Tom Walker in 2016 in a little over 2 hours. A year later she lowered her time to 1:44 at the local FPOL Half Marathon. Then a year after that she ran her first Marathon in 2019 in 3:24 to qualify for the 2020 Boston Marathon. As a Member of Team FTC Elite, Angela has become a leader at practices and races. Her passion continues to grow for running and coaching as she gains knowledge and miles under her feet. |
